When testing, Victory Martial Arts & Fitness students are competing more with themselves than with other students. This means that the instructors and test officiates look at each student as an "individual" and gauge how they as a "individual" can improve in order to achieve their next level belt. It is important that students are not be allowed to carry over bad habits from one belt level to another that are detrimental to the student's overall martial arts or character development.  

White belt stripes are awarded to younger children to encourage their development as they continue to learn the fundamental elements of their practicing belt rank.  Stripes are not given to teens or adults. Make no mistake, and advancement stripe carries the same weight as a solid color whole step advancement. 

White striped belts are usually handed out in the given order presented herein. However, based on a student's performance, technical proficiency, character and overall attitude, a testing student can earn any level striped belt or solid color belt.  

The best tips we can offer about how to get promoted are these: (1) Attend class often, (2) Be a visual representation of the tenants of Taekwondo, (3) pay attention and alway give 150% during each class, (4) when ask to make corrections to your technique, do so quickly and continuosly, be a good student on the floor and off.

Testing student demonstrates general understanding of white belt curriculum, proficiency, balance and functional movement requires improvement. Testing student can perform first six moves of his or her promotion pattern with help.   

After all requirements have been met and demonstrated during the next test cycle, testing student may advance to full color belt promotion if earned.

Testing student demonstrates above average understanding of white belt curriculum, proficiency, balance and functional movement requires improvement. Testing student can perform first six moves of his or her promotion pattern without help. Other factors considered are dedication, focus and committment. 

After all requirements have been met and demonstrated during the next test cycle, testing student may advance to full color belt promotion if earned.

Testing student is able to demonstrate complete understanding of the white belt curriculum and significant improvement in proficiency and functional movement. Testing student is also able to complete entire promotion pattern without help; however, character, focus and commitment requires improvement.  

After all requirements have been met and demonstrated during the next test cycle, testing student may advance to full color belt promotion if earned.

Testing student is able to demonstrate complete understanding of the white belt curriculum and significant improvement in proficiency and functional movement. Testing student is also able to complete entire promotion pattern without help; and made minimal improvment towards character, focus and commitment requirements.  

After all requirements have been met and demonstrated during the next test cycle, testing student may advance to full color belt promotion if earned.
