Joon Bi

STEP 1

Joon bi is the basic ready position stance from which all drill begin. Assume the joon bi position after bowing to the instructor or your partner before proceeding to the next drill.

STEP 2

Slide the left foot to the left by a distance equal to one shoulder width. At the same time, raise your fist to a point just below your chin, outer edges touching, palms facing in. Once you have moved your left foot to its position, thrust the fist down in front of your belt and hold them there. Keep your eyes straight ahead and your posture straight, firm, and relaxed. Do not rest your arms on your body.

STEP 3

Prior to joon bi all students are at the position of attention. Both feet flat on the floor, heals touching, toes turned out at a 45 degree angle, head straight eyes forward. Hand are flat on the sides of the thighs fingers pointed down thumbs tucked in. Body posture is straight, firm and relaxed.
